Purpose: The purpose of the module is to provide students with the necessary competencies (knowledge, values and skills) to explore the role of the manager in the contemporary organisation which functions in a business environment characterised by major, ongoing change. The traditional management functions of planning, organising, leading and control are re-examined in the context of the dynamic business environment of the 21st century where managers face new and unique challenges.
